Python Job: Spatial Analyst

The Spatial Analyst is responsible for informing the delivery of the organizations programs and projects by supporting the development of strategies and systems designed to facilitate the effective analysis and use of school asset data. The team is responsible for conducting a high volume of work within tight timelines and communicating with stakeholders on a regular basis. In addition to having proven specialist technical expertise in the data analytics field, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their capabilities in relation to building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, work planning and organisational skills.

Key Accountabilities

• Advanced spatial skill sets including VBA /Mapbasic and Basic AutoCAD
• Analyse data using standard tools (e.g. SQL server, Access, Excel, SPSS, SAS) is desirable
• Ensure delivery of timely, accurate and high-quality data products and reports
• Provide recommendations for embedding insights from analysis to drive action
• Consult with internal and external stakeholders to inform research and analysis
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to inform research and analysis and build research capacity
• Establish and maintain strong, collaborative, and productive working relationships with project stakeholders within and external to the Department
• Provide advice and make recommendations about data
• Provide reports on data generated by systems, databases, and tools
• Analyse business requirements and business functional specifications
• Translate business needs into technical requirements
• Gather and record data and keep accurate records as required
• Acquiring data and information from a wide range of sources
• Compile and maintain updated information systems and written records e.g. Registers and databases
• Lead the development and implementation of data and information collection systems and storage
• Ensure delivery of timely, accurate and high-quality data products and reports
• Mentor and Peer Review data analytics products and analysis processes and techniques

Specialist/ Technical Expertise

• Expertise in Advanced Mapinfo and Map Basic is essential. Other experience in SPSSS, PowerBi, Tableau and AUTOCAD would be advantageous
• Knowledge or proficiency in Python, R, or SQL and the use of digital tools, such as Jira, Sharepoint, Visio and similar would be preferred
